2013 Senior County Tournamnent
The 2013 Senior County Tournament was a successful event again under the format that was added 6 years ago. Just as our Men's tournament is divided into flights, our Senior tournament is divided into age groups. The age groups consist of 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70-older. A champion is determined from each age group. However, we still have our traditional overall champion who wins a golf membership for the following season. To ensure all age groups compete at a level playing field the 50-54 and the 55-59 age groups play from the blue tees. Ages 60-64 and the 65-69 played from the white tees. While the 70-older age groups play from the gold tees.

2013 OVERALL SENIOR CHAMPION
Senior Age 60-64 County Champion
John Goik

John Goik played an exceptional tournament and was crowned County Champion for the first time in his career. John shot an opening round 1 under par 71 which gave him a 3 shot edge over defending champion Tom Rezler and John Janke in the 60-64 age group and a tie for first overall with Rod Wright (50-54 age group).Greg Stutelberg (65-69 age group)also was only 2 shots back heading into Sunday's round firing a 73 in the first round. John played a steady closing round of 73 to win the overall championship by 2 shots and 3 shots in his age group. Congratulations John!

Rod Wright

Rod was not only able to defend his title this year, but did so in fashion winning by 7 shots. Rod was tied for the overall lead going into the second round and just wasn't able to pull out the overall victory, but took command of his age group. Winning back to back years it won't be long until we see him in the overall winner's circle.

2013 Senior Age 55-59 Champion
Dick Barber

Dick played a fine tournament and withstood a nice charge from Greg Elliott and went into a playoff to win his first senior championship. After shooting a 3 over par 75 Dick followed it up with a steady 78. Greg charged back from an opening round 77 to fire a 4 over 76 on Sunday to take it to extra holes. Dick made par on the first sudden death hole and was crowned champion. Great Job!

Greg proved he's a contender firing back to back 73's en route to a 3 shot victory in his age group. Following the opening round he was only 2 shots back from John Goik and Rod Wright for the overall championship. Greg played another solid round Sunday to add another trophy to his case. Richard Stevens

Richard Stevens was able to put his consistent golf game to work and win another senior county championship by 2 shots. Dick opened with a fine 74 and was tied with Gary Kinsey going into the second round. Gary struggled in the second round, but Dick was able to shoot another 2 over 74 to hold off Fred Kotewa who shot a closing round 73. Another job well done Dick!
