Personal Protection Orders
Personal Protection Orders (PPO's) are obtained from the Circuit Court Clerk's Office. They are usually accompanied by a police report or written statement to the judge. PPO's are served by the Sheriff's Office for a fee of $10.00 plus mileage (currently $0.55 per mile). Proof of service is returned by mail. Complete information regarding the service address (home and/or work) must be on the worksheet provided by the court. Only those addresses located in Bay County will be served by the Sheriff's Office. Any addresses outside of Bay County must be forwarded to the law enforcement agency in the area of the service address. PPO's are processed in the same manner as all other civil papers and will be served in a timely manner. Same-day service is not guaranteed.
